• Question: With some people, they have the mentality of a four-year-old yet they are well past four. What causes them to be stuck in this frame of mind where they believe they are four when they're really fifty or sixty?

Are you referring to people with learning disabilities here? Some of those conditions can cause lower mental age in comparison to physical age

Can be lots of things. Freud would have said that they might have become ‘fixated’ at a particular stage of psychosexual development (although that’s rubbish…). But learning difficulties and brain injuries can do this.

As a similar aside, have you seen the phenomenon where someone has a brain injury and then forever talks in a foreign accent? That’s quite weird!
