It grounds you in reality. I like to live in the real world – most people seemingly do not. But I find security in applying critical thinking, as demanded in psychology, to the world as I find it. I make better decisions by screening possible fraudsters, better understand when someone is using me, etc. It sharpens your skills at being successful in the world, and it’s deeply satisfying to ‘get’ something, on a really deep level. Not just trivia.

Something different happens every day for me, I’d say that’s the best thing.

Getting to meet interesting participants and to chat with equally enthusiastic researchers in a broad range of topics which encompass psychology.

Also the most frustrating thing – there are pretty much no definite answers. Therefore you can explore and explore and explore and just increase your knowledge of a topic. But that is so frustrating too – you rarely know a definite answer!
