No – I don’t think a £500 bursary could do that for anyone. However, in my case it would help to engage more young people to become interested in psychology – and then hopefully train as psychologists – and therefore have a long term impact from the perspective.

It could do – the recognition of those who win, perhaps more than the money, is a good indicator of the value of the proposed research. This should help get ideas off the ground.

I’m not sure it will have an impact on science and psychological treatment per se but hopefully it gets more people interested and excited in research and, just as importantly, communicating it!

£500 couldn’t go that far, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction to raise awareness!
