Hmm, I agree with Jermaine here… I suppose other sciences might look down on Psychology as ‘not a real science’ and equate that with it being easier than say chemistry. Although I think many students you chat to will disagree that it’s easy at university (or A Level)!
I think because we are talking about things people already know about. Like decision-making, personality, whatever. These are words people use – but it does not mean they know what they are talking about, at least not in any real depth.
I think other hard sciences look down on it as psychology occupies the best of both worlds – numbers, as well as actually talking to the people behind them.
