Tough one! There’s at least two kinds of PJ song: fast, up-tempo lead guitar-heavy rockers, with big choruses and guitar solos; and soft, acoustic ballads. I like both.

I would choose ‘Alive’ from the first list, and ‘The Long Road’ from the second.

Alive is based on the life story of the singer who found out late in his teens that the man he thought was his biological father was a family friend. He found out his real dad was still alive. The song captures so many emotions which came out of that horrible experience, but over the years when performed in a live setting, it now captures this powerful message of celebrating being alive – in this very moment. It makes me feel grateful to be alive, and to feel grateful for every good thing in my life.

The Long Road has some beautiful lyrics and simple chords. It’s a fun one to play on guitar. Love the vocals.
