• Question: how is it possible that i cry in my sleep?

      Well we can do all sorts of things while we sleep, crying is just one of those things which are possible. We have this idea that sleep is a time that our brain shuts off but that’s really not the case. We can talk, walk, prepare food, and even commit crimes while asleep (last one is open to debate). As to why that activity might be crying, rather than walking or criminal activity, the content of our dreams can upset us and lead us to cry as a result. There may not even be a verifiable cause.

      It’s not my area of expertise. But I’ve woken up crying in a dream before. It was emotional… so I guess if you’re dreaming about something that’s emotional it might make you cry!
