• Question: How have NHS cuts affected the quality of the Mental Health Services?

      Mental health services have had massive cut backs in terms of number of inpatient beds, number of psychiatric nurses, and now the government has cut funds to nurse training.

      As Gemma says NHS cuts have had a huge influence on mental health treatment – it takes longer to get to see a specialist, for example. Despite the government promising more money for mental health services, this doesn’t really seem to be the case…

      As both have said below, it’s increased waiting times, led to cheaper therapies, as well as had an impact on nursing ect. But everyone within the services are still working extra hard to make things work
